"I retired early (1999) from the Cooperative Extension Service, University of Arkansas, where I was Extension Textiles and Clothing Specialist, so I could move to Nebraska to be near my children and grandchildren. My daughter, Julianne has two children, Mariah, 10, and Dane, 7. David, my son, has a daughter, Rhiana, 10. They are the light of my life! When I first came back to Lincoln, I taught Basic Textiles at the University of Nebraska part time. I currently work for the Nebraska State Patrol. I am Staff Assistant to the Coordinator for Alcohol/Tobacco Enforcement.

In my spare time I do some design work in textiles and wearable art. I also make clothes for 16 inch fashion dolls which I sell on E-bay. (It's amazing how much some people will pay for doll clothes!) The sketch is an outfit I designed and made for a young woman who is a DJ on MTV in India. She was home visiting her parents and needed a dress for a celebration of Indian Independence Day which she was emceeing."   Michelle James - June, 2002
