"When I graduated from East, I followed the love of my life to California, an electronic engineer named Mike. I had a full scholarship to nursing school, including books, uniforms, room and board and a $30.00. Mo stipend. We were married for 39 years before he died in his sleep at 71. He was still working and being granted patents on the GPS receiver and antenna. Mike treated me like a queen, keeping me in universities until I made up my mind what I wanted to be when I grew up. I collected degrees, including a nursing degree, a B. S. W., M.S. and Ph.D. in health and human services, M.A. in psychology, Psy.D. in clinical Psychology and B.A. in theology. My home office wall I papered with many certificates. I did settled down to co-pastoring Overcomers Christian Center in Anaheim, California. But when the counseling center grew beyond the ability to pastor and counsel, I entered private practice as a Christian therapist, specializing in child abuse, grief recovery and divorce. Now that I am a widow, Mike left me financially secured so that I can do what I feel God has been preparing me to do for several years. I have retired from my private practice formed a nonprofit corporation and am writing my fourth and fifth books, while incorporating my last dissertation. My dissertation was on teaching my therapist to facilitate self-help groups. While in private practice I was the only therapist running Divorce Recovery groups for Kids and Divorce Recovery For Teens. There are Adult Children of Divorce Groups, but I would like to help kids sooner. I have had some judges ask me to hurry up and get the groups going. I also want to help widows with their grief process and with just practical living aspects--how to hire contractor for home repairs, financial advisors, etc., this will be called The Widow's Might, a play on words for the Biblical Widow's mite. Widow's often have no group to go to, except single's and that is not always appropriate for them.
Other than answering another all of God, in my spare time, I am remolding my Garden Grove home 90% by my self. I have learned to do carpentry work and even replaster my ceilings. My home will soon look like a Victorian cottage, including the English cottage gardens that surround the front and back. My enjoyment is reading a good book in by back yard, smeeling the many different fregrant roses and other flowers and waatch the fountains spray into my large lagoon swimming pool as Happy Boy, my min pin curls up on my lap. In addition, I take a cruise 2-3 times a year and my laptop and I take a mini-vacation for 3-6 days every other month. The mini-vacations help with writers' block.
Vital Stats: My age is 60?, but my surgeon skill will deny it, I am blond, I am now thin, have lost 50# since high school and eye color depends on what color of contacts I decide to wear. I have 4 adult children from New Orleans to California, 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, 1 great-grandson and 1 great-granddaughter."
